Laura Kamphuis

Hi, my name is Laura and I paint fluid and organic abstract paintings. I paint from the heart, not from the head. Right before applying the paint to the canvas, I decide on a final composition for the artwork. The most challenging but also fun part of my work is to have coloured pigments find each other on the canvas while keeping the composition in tact and the colours vibrant. When dry, my artworks resemble a bird's-eye view of the most beautiful places on earth, or within the universe. Some have the appearance of glaciers in Greenland, others look like a Supernova in space.

When I connected with Mees, we knew at our first encounter that how we produce our art and how we feel about sharing it with the world, is very similar. We want everybody to be able to experience music, paintings, or any art form for that matter, simply by being exposed to it - without telling you how to interpret it. This is why I painted this series, and I invite you to simply take it in and hopefully, it will evoke an emotion that moves you. I’m so happy for our two art forms to have found each other.
